I hope I will never you these, but it is very useful to know and be prepared.
On Tuesday, we learned about self-defense against a person with a gun. At first, we learned different parts that a gun has, and how is it activated. What are the best ways to defend our selves against a person with a gun considering the way it is held, and the degree of which the person with a gun can change gun viewpoint without changing whole body position. Using some techniques from Philippines martial arts to know our ways to take control of the gun with leverage and then use our whole arm and body strength to bring down the person with a gun. I learned that elbow is considered as a tree trunk, and it is a useful weapon that a person has. Lastly, as the person starts to fighting back the rate of the injury goes up, and as the fighting continues the rate comes down. The thing that surprised me was that we have to consider to put a lot of strength into fighting with the person because you never know how strong is the person. however, because this did not happen to me yet; it was hard to be serious enough. I have to consider the use of my strength according to the situation that I will be in. I like that at the end the instructor showed us that Philippines martial arts have small moves to get the rhythm and continues fun moves to prepare the person for these situations. I would like to learn more moves and get the strength necessary. I hope I will never you these, but it is very useful to know and be prepared.
